Why is now the perfect time to join a gym?

By now we have all realised that the summer is officially over! The leaves have started to fall, the weather has deteriorated and we start to get that feeling that there is nothing to look forward to until Christmas. For most, autumn and winter is a time to wrap up warm and stay inside on the sofa munching on our favourite foods to cheer us up. However, with Christmas already being a calorie overload month, now is the perfect time to get into regular exercise.

Everyone feels slight pressure to get into shape before the summer to have that ‘beach body’ we all strive for. Now that the summer is over, should we be throwing it all away? A far more healthy option for you would be to get back into training now and continue exercising so that you can keep that beach body through the winter. This will have a number of benefits:

1.    You won’t have wasted those months before summer – If you did manage to get into shape for the summer, it would be a real waste to forget all that hard work and give up through the winter. A far better idea would be to continue exercising regularly and remain at a more constant state of healthy.

2.    Christmas will be less of a health nightmare – We all feel guilty when we over indulge at Christmas, however, if you have kept up the fitness regime throughout the autumn, the effect of your indulgence will be lessened.

3.    It’s easier to get into shape after the Christmas/ New Year period - Rather than starting from scratch in January, why not continue training throughout the winter and make getting back to the gym after Christmas a whole lot easier.
